Parent/Technology Involvementhomework5

Many parents would like to be involved in the use of technology in their children's schools. Here are some ideas you can bring to your community.

1.Technology Committee  Many PTAs form committees that address a wide range of issues concerning technology in the schools. These may include, but are not limited to, fundraising, staff training, and involvement with district level planning. Technology committee members may consist of parents, teachers, media specialist, and administrators.

2.Donations  Local businesses and organizations are willing to make donations for educational purposes. Parents might contact local businesses, phone companies, or inquire within their own workplace for such opportunities.

3.Volunteer Time and Expertise  Parents might wish to get involved regardless of their level of expertise in technology know-how. By assisting one of the teachers, a parent may be able to provide more time for individual attention for the students.

4.Learning More About Technology  Parents who are interested in expanding their knowledge and keep abreast of their children's technological skills should inquire within the local community for support and training. Workshops are held at local colleges, schools for continuing education, or computer stores. Many libraries Internet training sessions for community residents
